Learning crisis exacerbated by the pandemic

Hoping for bang for the buck with DepEd’s confidential funds

Advocacy group Philippine Business for Education is hoping that the Department of Education’s proposed P150-million confidential funds will be focused on addressing the learning crisis.

Vice President Sara Duterte earlier told lawmakers that the DepEd’s proposed will be used for security and surveillance, particularly against illegal drugs, extremism, and child pornography.

PBed Deputy Executive Director Diane Fajardo-Valencia also said there is a need to assess the needs of learners with the resumption of face-to-face classes.
